What is the difference between REST APIs and MCP?
REST APIs serve explicit requests from your applications. MCP lets a compatible agent discover and call supported Economatica data and financial tools. Your agent remains responsible for its workflow and decisions.
Which agent environments are supported?
Compatibility depends on your runtime, transport and authentication support. We validate your integration during the assisted evaluation before production access.
Are the same datasets and tools available through both methods?
Coverage and analytical capabilities vary by integration method. We confirm the available datasets, tools, fields, history and update frequency during technical scoping.
Can I use MCP in a client-facing product?
Not under this offering. Server-to-server MCP is for internal institutional use only. API licensing for B2B or B2B2C applications is assessed separately.
Which APIs are available today?
Four domains over the same proprietary base: News, Fundamentals and Market data, Funds, and Fixed Income.
How far back does the history go?
The database has been maintained since 1986. Depth per series and per country is confirmed during scoping.
Which countries are covered?
Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and the United States, organised by asset class: equities and indices in all seven, funds in six, fixed income in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Peru, news and regulatory filings in Brazil. Regional API delivery is available. Licensing and service conditions are agreed for the selected scope.
Is there documentation and a sandbox?
Yes. An OpenAPI 3.1 specification in three languages, interactive documentation, ready examples and a sandbox environment with synthetic data to validate the integration before production.
How is access authenticated and governed?
Access is by API key, authenticated by HMAC signature or Bearer token, with rate limits and quota headers the client can read directly from the API.
How does licensing and redistribution work?
Use is defined per contract by scope, internal, B2B or B2B2C. Redistribution to third parties is agreed case by case with the commercial team before production access.
What is the difference between the API and the Data Feed?
The API serves structured, on-demand queries from systems that fetch dynamically. The Data Feed handles recurring or bulk delivery into data warehouses, data lakes and BI tools.
